Why Anushka Sharma Was Choosen for Sultan?
Anushka Sharma may have been chosen for Salman Khan's Sultan
but her character may not be exactly what we were expecting it to be. The
actress will be playing a wrestler in the film, mouthing Haryanvi dialogue. She
will be seen in a de-glam avatar sweating it out in the ring and will be
training for three weeks before starting the shoot, reported BollywoodLife.
Talking about her role in detail, director Ali Abbas Zafar revealed why she was
the right choice. He said that as she is athletic, understands the language and
the mannerisms, it will be easier for her to get into the skin of the
character. He also added that Anushka, who has already romanced Aamir and SRK,
will look good with Salman too. Salman Khan’s upcoming film, 'Sultan,' has been
in the news for ever, mainly because of the Bhai factor but also because the
curiosity around the leading lady had been killing fans. From Deepika Padukone
to Parineeti Chopra, a lot of names came our way, but none was finalized.
Despite the fact that the film had gone on floors a while ago and that Salman
has already completed the first schedule, there was no clue, whatsoever, about
which B-Town beauty would bag this coveted role. The winner ladies and
gentlemen is… Anushka Sharma
No Comparison for Anushka Sharma :
The 27-year-old actress, said in a recent interview that
people have a habit of comparing their success and failures with others, but
she doesn't look at it that way as she does not compare herself with her
contemporaries instead she admires their work, reports the Dawn.Anushka further
said, "I agree that there is competition. I am not saying I'm my only
competition, but I am charting my own course just like everyone else is and I
am not pressured by what others are driven by. I am only concerned with doing
good work."
Anushka Sharma The Star of year 2015 :
Not too long ago, a digital portal referred to Anushka
Sharma’s statements as ‘ballsy', in a headline for a story hailing the fact
that the 27-year old spoke out against sexism in the film industry. But Anushka
Sharma was clearly letting none of that come in her way. In early 2015, even as
the sounds of the jingling cash registers in the aftermath of her film PK (the
biggest grosser in Indian cinema, incidentally) had barely subsided, Ms Sharma
was ready with her debut production, Navdeep Singh’s excellent NH10, in which
she also happened to be the biggest box office draw. So much for that glass
ceiling. For a nation that is only just beginning to wake up to the very real
problems stemming from patriarchy and misogyny, NH10 was the closest that we’ve
come so far to feminist escapism. The scene in the climax, where her character
Meera lights up a cigarette just before doling out the death penalty to a man
who dared mess with her, may have been a cliché-ridden clap trap, but the
audience merrily let themselves be trapped; and they clapped. Then, soon after
NH10, barely six months after appearing in the highest grossing Indian film
ever, Ms Sharma starred in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet. The director didn’t
just become a national punching bag for a while, but the film also ended up
losing a lot of money. Anushka herself received mixed reviews for her
performance, with many preferring a tiny cameo by that 90s diva of incendiary
rhythmic rain fame, Raveena Tandon.
Anushka Sharma is thrilled to work with Salman Khan :
After being signed for the Salman Khan starrer ' Sultan',
Anushka Sharma has joined the league of actresses, who have worked with the
three prominent Khans of the industry.Expressing her excitement on signing the
upcoming Yash Raj film, the 27-year-old actress said she is thrilled and
excited to work with the 50-year-old actor as she thinks there is no one like
him because of his persona, reports the Express Tribune. She added her
character in the flick is something she is waiting to dig her teeth into. Sharing
her experience of working with all the three Khans, the 'NH10' star said:
"It's really great and this is something that I'll be very proud of till
the end of my life." Claiming that acting will always hold a special place
in her life, the 27-year-old actress said that acting has always been her
passion and will remain so, though she enjoyed playing the dual role of an
actor and producer in NH10, The PK star added that as a viewer, she really
wants to watch author-backed stories and there is something amazing about
thrillers and the way it captivates a person's imagination. As of September
2015, Sharma is in a relationship with cricketer Virat Kohli.Their relationship
has attracted substantial media coverage in India, though she is reluctant to
openly talk about it. As of September 2014, Sharma is pursuing a Master of
Economics degree through correspondence. She started practising vegetarianism
in 2015. The Times of India has listed her as one of "Bollywood's hottest
vegetarian celebrities". She was also named as the "hottest
vegetarian of 2015" by PETA . She is an avid practitioner of
Transcendental Meditation.
